A 29-year-old man in Waterloo, Ontario faces an extreme amount of child pornography charges.
As Waterloo Chronicle reports, in October of last year, an investigation by Waterloo Regional Police and partners into the the illegal distribution and possession of child exploitation material led to the arrest of 10 people.
The investigation was conducted by Waterloo Regional Police Service’s cybercrime unit and included the execution of 12 search warrants in homes and vehicles in the area.
During the search of one home, Waterloo Regional Police along with Hamilton police identified a 29-year-old Waterloo man as the suspect of the child pornography investigation. He was charged with two counts of possession of child pornography, making child porn available and breaching probation.
A forensic analysis of devices resulted in two child victims being located. The man was then charged with three counts each of sexual assault, sexual interference and making child pornography available.
As the investigation continued, two more victims, a child and an adult, were located.
On March 7, 70 criminal offences were filed against the man, including sexual assault, sexual interference, making child pornography available and voyeurism.
The victims all knew the accused and the alleged offences took place in Oxford County and Kitchener.
