As The Weather Network reports, overnight on Friday through Saturday will be filled with snow and ice in southern Ontario.
The heaviest rain will be in the southwest regions and along the northern shores of Lake Erie with 20-30 mm expected. The GTA is expected to get 10-20 mm.
Saturday’s snowfall could see 5 cm in Ottawa, and areas further north of the 401/407 could be getting 10 cm.
As the snow changes to freezing rain, the 407 east of Toronto and the 416 to Ottawa could be impacted.
“Surfaces such as highways, roads and walkways may become icy and slippery as a result,” Environment Canada warned in a Friday weather statement.
