According to The Weather Network, winter will continue into March, but spring will come quicker than expected, around a month earlier than last year, to be precise.
“Spring is knocking at that door and it’s coming in,” said the network’s chief meteorologist Chris Scott.
“The crack in the armour of winter is showing and it’s really going to break down almost all at once through to the middle to the latter half of March.”
This is extremely welcome news to most Canadians who have had to deal with extreme mountains of snow and blistering winds for most of December, January, and February.
In a press release, Scott explains, “Later in March, we expect an abrupt flip in the weather pattern. This will bring an extended period of mild spring weather about a month earlier than last year.”
As we move from March into April, we can look forward to warmer temperatures. At this time of year, we need all the hope we can get!
