Ontario Provincial Police in West Parry Sound are investigating after several people appeared to ‘overdose’ on pot brownies at a community lunch on March 19.
According to Parrysound.com, several people required medical attention after attending the event.
When police spoke to people who attended the lunch, they learned people who ate the cannabis-laced brownies experienced dry mouth, dizziness, disorientation and some even reported nausea and vomiting.
Many of the symptoms are common side effects to getting high, but may be concerning for anyone who unsuspectingly ate a pot brownie or had never been high before.
Police say there is no information to suggest those who attended the lunch will suffer serious or lasting effects from consuming the treats.
