A New Mexico man who allegedly raped three different children, including a five-year-old in one week was released on bail twice by the same judge.
According to Fox News, 29-year-old Raymond Hernandez was first arrested on January 15 after allegedly raping a teenage girl and beating her friend.
Judge Ernest Ortega decided to release him on a $10,000 bond.
Then just two days later, wearing an ankle monitor, Hernandez was arrested once again. This time, he was allegedly molesting a 19-month toddler who lived in the same house as the teenager he was accused of raping.
Once more, Judge Ernest Ortega decided to release Hernandez, but doubled the bail to $20,000.
And again, after posting bail, a few days later Hernandez allegedly went on to rape a five-year-old girl living next door to his family. He then fled and a state-wide manhunt ensued. Finally, he was arrested on Sunday in Colorado.
Taos County Sheriff Jerry Hogrefe says he suspects Hernandez has even more victims.
It’s crazy to think the judge actually kept letting this man go despite the serious allegations against him. What are your thoughts on this?
