ISIS wives from all over the world want
to return to the countries they betrayed to fight for the Islamic
One bride from Alabama urged people to drive trucks into crowds on Veterans Day is begging for forgiveness and wants to be allowed back into the country after she joined ISIS in Syria.
In 2015, Hoda Muthana tweeted “Go on drive bys, and spill all of their blood, or rent a big truck and drive all over them. Veterans, Patriots, Memorial, etc day … Kill them.”
The Guardian reported that while in Syria, she married three different men and was eventually capturd by Kurdish forces.
“I was brainwashed once and my friends are still brainwashed,” she told The Guardian.
“We were basically in the time of ignorance […] and then became jihadi, if you like to describe it that way. I thought I was doing things correctly for the sake of God,” she added.
“I believe that America gives second chances. I want to return and I’ll never come back to the Middle East. America can take my passport and I wouldn’t mind.”
Hoda Muthana’s story applies to ISIS brides from other counties too.
Canadian women going by Kimberly and Amy are among those who moved to Syria with their husbands in support of ISIS.
“I had no idea how much I could miss my own country,” Kimberly said. “What I know of Canadians is that they are very loving, very accepting people for the most part.”
“They don’t want to punish without reason,” she added, telling CTV. “I think that a lot of people believe in giving second chances.”
Meanwhile, 34-year-old Amy told CTV’s London Bureau Chief Paul Workman how she married a Muslim man and converted to Islam.
“He started learning about the religion more and he just felt like it wasn’t suitable for us to stay in Canada anymore,” she said. “It’s absolutely terrifying when you’re just walking on the street and you hear a plane coming. You just freeze.”
Amy also claims she didn’t do anything wrong.
“I don’t believe I did anything wrong. I didn’t kill nobody. I didn’t do any harm to anybody,” she said. “I want to be with my family… I want my kids to go to school and get a proper education.”
When Amy’s husband was killed she married a Bosnian man. Three months later, he was killed and she is pregnant with his child.
Finally, in the UK, a 19-year-old bride of an ISIS terrorist wants to come home and even admitted to the BBC she actually supports “some British values”.
Shamima Begum said she was a poster girl for ISIS recruitment and is ready to face jail time if allowed to return.
“When I went to Syria, I was just a housewife for the entire four years – stayed at home, took care of my husband, took care of my kids,” she told Sky News hours after giving birth. “I never did anything dangerous. I never made propaganda. I never encouraged people to come to Syria.”
